It’s been a blink of an eye kind of two years since our book was published. Luckily, it was published in Sept 2019 well before life changed for everyone during the Pandemic. It was much easier to publish and promote a book back in the ‘Old Pre-Covid World’ where travel, interviews, signings and everything else that comes with publishing was far easier and more natural. Munch was a far happier dog when he could sashay freely in the world meeting, greeting and making people fall in love with him.

Since then, life has been a little busy with other adventures but I still love to write when I get a spare moment. An increase in working hours, completing a course plus becoming a supervisor in work has meant that these spare moments are few and far between. Adding into the mix a gorgeous new grandson has meant an ever increasing family which has been so amazing, yet my writing is feeling a little neglected.

My writing fits into the category of hobby  rather than a profession but who knows maybe one day that will change. With spontaneity more appealing than discipline, I may need to quite down my search for new adventures long enough to create an opportunity to write as an author instead of a Literature Dabbler. As a young child, it did cross my mind that I would love to be an author due to the  love and escapism books bring to their readers. I did however want to be a Firefighter, a Pilot and a Detective although maybe none of those were the easiest of choices for a blind person but it’s always important to reach for the stars and keep your dreams alive!

Munch has however telepathically dictated a self help book that I….sorry we…. have finished writing and are  nearing the end of a light hearted novel which has been so fun to write. We have a rough draft of a more academically geared book that is threatening to be released into the Laptop very soon after being approached by someone to write one, so there is no rest for the wicked. Whether we choose to publish these or just keep writing for fun, who knows. As long as we keep having fun writing,  that is all that matters.

Fear not, Munch’s addiction to showing his face in photos is still being fed as he has been asked if Guide Dogs can use his face for some learning resources in schools which I think is fab idea. Raising awareness about how these magical beings help the lives of people with sight loss is crucial so we are always up for that. I am glad Minster (Munch’s professional Guide Dog name) and his antics will have a chance to always be remembered in our book and beyond. I whole heartedly wish that for the next two years and beyond, we can keep spreading Minster Munch’s antics far and wide. Thanks Munch for being the best co-author ever.

Believe And Receive.

Author, Books, Labradoodle, Media coverage, Thanks

They say there is no rest for the wicked but there must also be no rest for angels such as I.

Over the last week and a half, it has been a little …. busy. I have had requests from different parts of the world to learn more about how awesome a guide dog I am. There have been mentions about hearing about the maid’s sight loss story, but I think that is a pretty insignificant part of our press coverage. I mean who would not want to know more about my handsome labradoodle face. Without me coming into her life there would be no story to tell.

During my guide dog training I learnt to guide and be the sight that the person at the end of my harness handle had lost. I was taught to look out for dangers and obstacles in the way whilst out walking to keep my human partner safe. One thing that I also picked up along the way was how to use my charm and magnetic personality to my advantage and I think this is the reason that I have had people flock to me especially since the release of the book.

After an article was released in The Daily Mail last week, things went a little off the scale in regards of people wanting to know more about the book and multiple media sources covered it. Within 12 hours of the release of the article, the maid and the PR at Hay House were answering queries from places as far away as Austrailia. We had two TV programmes interested in having us on to talk about the book. Unfortunately due to the elections that are taking priority everywhere, our appearance had to be cancelled last minute so the nation missed seeing my newly pampered hairdo on their screens. The article had been translated into Polish, German, Taiwanese and French within hours of being printed. The maid was a little shocked but I expect that they just fell in love with my face and wanted to write about me.

Emails have been sent and answered in a constant flow over the last week and a half in relation to the book and it is now available in stores that it previously was not stocked in. All of this was what I was put on earth for. Dogs (or Ascended Masters such as I) need to have their worth recognised in any way they can. I have changed the maid’s life forever and know that she will be forever grateful for it. Her love for me will never be anything but huge.

To all of you what have been supportive in helping us get to where we are in life, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The maid never thought that anyone would ever be interested in her story and nobody would want to read the book, but she was wrong (as usual). Your own unique story is just waiting to be heard by eager ears including ours. Belief always believed in you so believe in it too.

There are some people who you can sit and listen to for hours on end and still crave more. Dr David Hamilton is one of these people. It was my third time at one of his talks but Munch’s first and I think it is safe to say he enjoyed as much as the rest of us, His enjoyment was enhanced even more by the fuss and attention that he got from a lot of the audience members and the author himself. Subtlety has never been his strong point.

If you have never read one of David Hamilton’s books, let me assure you they are well worth a read. One of my favourite books by him is The Five Side Effects Of Kindness. This is an audiobook that I love to dip into for a feel-good factor. The book focusses on the health benefits of kindness from lowered blood pressure to slowing down the ageing process by reducing wrinkles. The former chemist really knows his stuff and presents research findings on the subject in an easily understandable format.

His other books include How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body, I Love Me, Why Kindness Is Good for You and The Contagious Power of Thinking to name but a few. All these books that I have binge listened to help to understand the correlation between the mind body relationship and owning our own choice of behaviours. To me, such books are music to my ears as they speak of concepts that I have always been aware of even from a young age. The coming home feeling that these books give always excites me.

The books we seek to read and the films that we choose to watch, are reflections of parts of us that will always wants company. We are what we read, write, watch and listen to, so making good choices in these is key to a happy life. Feel good influences will always be more beneficial than seeking out the doom and gloom in life. I don’t think anyone in history has ever complained that their life is too happy, as they have chosen to make it so by surrounding themselves with inspiration.

Munch may be seeing more of David Hamilton in the future as our book that is out next year is being published by Hay House which is the same publishing company as his. Becoming part of such a positively influential company feels such a privilege. It is weird to think that from next year onwards Munch may be at his own book events and taking centre stage. I cannot wait to see who we will meet along the way.
